LEVEL B2 - C2 and up
Wednesday 2:00-3:30 PM (EDT)
June 22 - August 24 (10-week class)
We will read a “giallo” — a detective novel" — by beloved Italian writer Andrea Camilleri, famous for writing the Detective Montalbano series. The story is set in Rome and near Rome, and is composed of text messages, emails, and newspaper articles that narrate the story. The language is lively and colloquial, full of idiomatic expressions, a few phrases in “romanesco” (the dialect of Rome), and, yes, some vulgarities (parolaccie!). Our lessons will consist of conversation, presentations and reading. A reading guide consisting of vocabulary lists, some background information, and comprehension question will be provided.
The book is available from Libreria Pino and also as audio book from Amazon audibles
